“A Bag’s Life” Campaign Encourages Floridians to Change Habits,

(TALLAHASSEE, FL) – April 20, 2010 – A statewide plastic bag recycling awareness campaign called A Bag’s Life, which includes an interactive and educational website http://www.abagslife.com and mobile app with nearly 1,600 recycling drop-off sites by zip code, will be launched during Earth Day at the Capitol with the help of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Retail Federation and Florida Recycling Partnership.

American Beverage Community Recycling Study

The report, prepared independently by the environmental firm R.W. Beck, found that an estimated 229 million Americans, or 74 percent of the total population, have access to some form of curbside recycling at home. The data was complied through a broad national survery of local recycling officials. Curbside recycling makes it easier and more convenient for people to recycle - thus more likely to recycle.

Pasco County School District wins Green School Award

LAND O'LAKES — The Pasco County School District has won another honor for its conservation efforts. This time, it received the first ever Governor's Serve to Preserve: Green School Award, besting other finalists from Pinellas and Charlotte counties.
