Florida Chamber of Commerce 2026 Leadership Conference on Safety

Florida Chamber of Commerce 2026 Leadership Conference on Safety, Health + Sustainability Selects Florida Recycling Partnership to Present at Conference
We are excited to share that FRPF has been selected to present at the Florida Chamber of Commerce 2026 Leadership Conference on Safety, Health + Sustainability, taking place May 14–15 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
“The Power of Partnerships: Turning Waste Into Opportunity” will highlight real-world examples of how strategic partnerships between for-profit companies and nonprofit organizations keep valuable materials out of landfills while creating meaningful jobs in local communities.
Our presentation will highlight how Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Goodwill South Florida, and WM collaborated to redirect usable items back into the marketplace, as well as how The Breakers Hotel and Goodwill Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast worked together to advance sustainability and expand employment opportunities. These case studies demonstrate practical, scalable ways businesses can strengthen sustainability programs while supporting workforce development.
This conference provides a great opportunity to educate business leaders about the value of recycling and offer actionable ideas they can incorporate into their own business plans.

Congratulations to Gene Jones for organizing an outstanding Southeast Recycling Conference recently held in Destin. The event provided a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow recycling enthusiasts and share ideas shaping the future of our industry. FRPF is a proud supporting organization of the conference.
During the conference, I had the pleasure of meeting with Marissa McNees, Managing Editor of Recycling Today. We discussed the work of the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation, shared updates on our current initiatives, and explored potential media coverage to help elevate awareness of our programs and priorities across the recycling community.
Mark you calendar for next year’s conference scheduled for February 16-19, 2027!

You can still watch it on our website! www.flrecycling.org
The webinar features educational sessions from David Klawitter of Orange County Public Schools, who shares how their recycling and food-waste program was launched, and Chris Perry of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, who provides practical tips on starting a school recycling program and explains the importance of conducting a waste audit.
